We are in this more than just for playing football. We're in it for the bigger goal - to move it along for the next generation."

THE FOUNDATION

Kemp Excellence Foundation was started by parents of women footballers to provide support and opportunities to young girl footballers in Karnataka and India. It has grown into a multi-faceted foundation that focuses on developing grassroots women football, as well as supporting education and empowerment of women via football.

To provide these opportunities, the Foundation runs Kemp Football Club, which participates in all KSFA recognised women's leagues and various other tournaments through the football calendar.

Through the Club, the foundation’s mission is three fold -
  • To empower and create equal opportunities for young women and men in football.
  • To create a sustainable, fun loving, competitive sporting environment for players, coaches, and sponsors to engage with the sport and the club.
  • To play quality & fair football.

THE ORIGIN

We’re in it for the bigger goal – to move it along for the next generation.”

As parents of players, we noticed gaps in women’s football in India. Drawing from our professional backgrounds, we set out to bridge these gaps by creating an environment that is equal, enriching, and empowering for young women.

We have witnessed football transform our daughters into better decision-makers, independent thinkers, and confident leaders. This experience has fueled our commitment to the sport, not just for today but for the future.

Led by five passionate women and one dedicated gentleman, we have made it our mission to invest time, effort, and resources into this passion project. Together, we aim to create opportunities that will empower the next generation of women through football.

All over the world, there are far too many disturbing incidents of sexism, misogyny, discrimination, hate, and abuse in football. It is shocking that this outdated, “cavemen” attitude toward women’s football still persists.

Every day, female players face a barrage of derogatory comments, sexualised insults, homophobia, body shaming, gender discrimination, and even death threats—both online and in person. These attacks come not just from fans but also from coaches, managers, and fellow players, often without consequence. Locker rooms and pitches, places meant for growth and competition, are tainted by these violations.

Football does not belong to men alone. Women have the same right to play, coach, officiate, commentate, and contribute to the sport without being ridiculed, objectified, or ignored. It’s time for everyone involved—players, coaches, managers, fans, and sponsors—to take a firm stand. We must create a welcoming, safe, and equal environment for women in football. Let’s build a future where no woman in football has to endure mistreatment. #NoFoulPlay
